sustainability

What is sustainability anyway?

Longevity and responsibility are crucial to making a product truly sustainable. Sustainability is not just about using environmentally friendly materials, but also about considering the entire lifespan of a product, from procurement to disposal. Companies must have a transparent overview of their processes and communicate them clearly to consumers.

An example of this are our meditation cushions, which are filled with spelled husks. Spelled grows on natural farmland and is processed into spelled flour for the food industry. We use the spelled husks created here as a waste product as filling material for our meditation cushions, which have a long lifespan through careful handling and care.

Our cushions are not only sustainable in their materials, but also in their design. They are designed for frequent use and easy cleaning, meaning they can be used for a long time. In addition, the spelled husks can simply be composted if necessary, for example to create nutrient-rich soil for the growth of more spelled or other plants. This closed loop is what true sustainability is all about.

Sustainability - the new normal!

Sustainability is becoming the new normal and it is more important than ever that companies take responsibility for their actions and commit to sustainability in their operations and products. It's not always easy, but it's urgently needed. Companies must be transparent in their processes and practices and constantly look for ways to improve and innovate their production methods. It is a journey that requires time and effort, but it is worth it for the benefit of our planet and future generations.

We attach great importance to sustainable growth and strive to give equal consideration to ecological and economic goals. Although we are not yet perfect, we are continually working to improve our business practices and be a role model in sustainability.

How can leather be sustainable?

Leather is a material that can last for generations with proper care and maintenance. It is robust and durable, and the use of natural tannins and careful workmanship allows it to retain its beauty and quality for many years. These properties make it a sustainable choice for many products, such as bags, shoes and furniture. It is also important to emphasize that choosing leather from ethically and environmentally responsible sources is an important factor in creating sustainable leather.
